Why are there fees?

Strange Weather Choir is a non-profit community choir.  Fees cover costs, including sheet music, rehearsal venue, musical director, accompanist and insurance.

Fees (for the year or for the first quarter) are due by Wednesday 9 March 2022.

The due dates for quarterly instalments are:

Wednesday 3 August 2022
Wednesday 2 November 2022

Fees for CONTINUING MEMBERs

  Fees for full year of membership when paid in one instalment
Continuing Member – non-concession $500.00
Continuing Member – concession * $420.00
* Concession = Centrelink pension card holder, health care card holder or full-time student.
  Fees for quarter-year of membership
Continuing Member – non-concession $130.00
Continuing Member – concession * $110.00
* Concession = Centrelink pension card holder, health care card holder or full-time student.

Notes about fees
If you are a new member, your first fees instalment includes a one-time $30 deposit for sheet music, which is refundable, on request, within 12 months of leaving the choir.

If you are a new member, then only your first instalment should include $30 additional payment added to the relevant rate listed above.  For example, the first fee for new members paying non-concession fees in quarterly instalments is $160. The second and subsequent quarterly instalments for non-concession fees is $130. In other words, you pay a music deposit only once. This is true for both concessional and non-concessional members paying either quarterly or annually.

If you compare the fees paid in full at the beginning of the year with the fees paid in four instalments, you will notice that there is effectively a $20 discount for paying fees in full at the beginning of the year.

HOW DO I PAY MY FEES?

There are two preferred payment methods:
  • Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
    • Please use the bank account details listed above.
    • Please enter a description (e.g. name and what the payment is for), to help the Treasurer identify the transfer as yours.
  • Bank deposit
    • Have the Strange Weather Choir bank account details (listed above) with you when you go to make the bank deposit.
    • Go to a branch of a financial institution (such as your usual financial institution, or a Westpac branch) and advise the teller that you wish to deposit money into the Strange Weather Choir bank account, which is a Westpac account.
      Important: Before the teller enters the deposit, ask them to include a reference number or description with the deposit.
    • Please notify the Treasurer of (1) the date, (2) the amount and (3) the reference number or description of the deposit, to help the Treasurer identify the bank deposit as yours. E:mail: treasurer@strangeweather.org.
    • Cheques should be made out to Strange Weather Gospel Choir Inc.
