Joining SWGC
Thank you for your interest in the Strange Weather Gospel Choir. The Choir is a non-auditioned choir and anyone who loves singing is welcomed, regardless of ability. We believe that anyone genuinely interested in making music can produce music of an exceptionally high standard if given the opportunity, proper training and support.
However, due to the need to maintain the balance of the 'voices' in the choir and ensure that the size of the Choir is manageable, the Choir may not be able to accept everyone.
Currently, there are no places for new members for 2008.
If you wish to add your name to the waitlist, please complete this form and return to the
Choir (see Contact Us). Please note that there could be up to a 2 year
wait for a place in the Soprano or Alto section. We encourage you to
sing with one of the many wonderful Choirs in Canberra in the meantime.
The Choir relies on volunteers to help with managing the choir and putting
on concerts. If you are keen to assist, please contact us.
How do I join the Choir?
If you are keen to join the Choir, please:
- Call the Contact person Chris on 0401 232 506 or strangeweathergospelchoir@gmail.com; and
- As soon as places become available, you will be invited to come along to the Choir's rehearsal.
- Complete the Expression of Interest form to join the choir

The Friends of Strange weather Gospel Choir
The Choir has established a group called Friends of Strange Weather Gospel Choir for those who support the choir but do not sing with the choir. This membership can give supporters the opportunity to meet with choir members, attend special events and fantastic seating arrangements at choir functions.
